How to chat with Safaricom from their self-care site

The easy way to reach Safaricom if they are not picking your call.

If you are a Safaricom subscriber you will content that getting through to them on 100 0r 234 can be a hustle. I have had the same nasty experience when trying to reach Safaricom after withdrawing money form the wrong agent. Your issue could be different, may be you sent money on M-PESA to a wrong number, you want to swap your line or you just have a genuine query.
You don’t have to suffer anymore especially if you have internet connection and you can access Safaricom self-care site.

Chatting with Safaricom customer care on the self-care site is easy and works instantly or almost. You won’t have to wait for more than ten minutes as they always notoriously say when you call the 100 number

Here is how to chat with Safaricom and have all your issues sorted in the shortest possible time

  • Go to Safaricom self-care site https://selfcare.safaricom.co.ke/Home.action
  • On the left side of the homepage there is a live chat tab click on it
  • When you move the cursor to it you will get “DO you need help?”  “Talk to us”
  • When you click on it a pop up window will appear. You will need to fill in the details i.e. Name, Phone number and your question.
  • Once you fill in all the above click on start chat at the bottom right of the page
  • It will take a few seconds and you will get a response e.g. you are now chatting with xyz …
  • Once this happens be sure your query will be handled unless your internet goes off.

      • Till numbers refunds can only be initiated by the merchant – The till owner. If it is a business you frequent, call them or visit them and get a refund. You can also call Safaricom on 234 for assistance.

    My Safaricom line keeps Thinking me every 5 or 10 seconds with the message​ “Thank you for staying connected to Safaricom the better option”
    This happen through out the day and night. I can’t sleep well due to this.
    This unsolicited gratitude comes with a loud pinging sound that has become a nuisance.
    Please, please, please, please, please let this happen only during public holidays and not every 5 seconds.
