How to reset your PIN for Safaricom SIM
It happens that sometime you may lock /block your Safaricom SIM. You SIM can be blocked when you enter a wrong PIN more than three times.If this happens, you be asked to enter your PUK number .The PUK number is usually indicated on the plastic card holder that comes with a new SIM card. So keep it somewhere safe for such instances.
If you do not have this plastic SIM cardholder with you, do not fret. Safaricom has another solution for you.
Safaricom has made it possible to unlock your SIM card and keep on connecting. – Updated 21 July 2019.
What you need to unblock/ unlock your Safaricom line
- A working Safaricom line (You can use your friend’s phone)
- Your mobile phone number
- Your ID number that was used to register for this line
The Procedure
- Dial *100# on the borrowed phone (Safaricom Phone)
- This lands you at self-care menu
- Select number 7 get PUK number
- Enter the mobile number of the line you want to get PUK for.
- You will be prompted to Enter Id or pin number(the id used to register the line or the pin number of your line)
Your Safaricom PUK will be sent to the phone you will be using at that moment. You can use that to change your pin and unblock your Safaricom line.

The last top up on your line
The Procedure
Dial *100# on the borrowed phone (Safaricom Phone)
This lands you at Prepay self-care
Scroll down to menu 8 …
Go to get PUK number
Enter the mobile number of the line you want to get PUK for.
You will be prompted to Enter Id or pin number(the id used to register the line or the pin number of your line)
Provide the the last direct top up amount on the line.
Your Safaricom PUK will be sent to the phone you will be using at that moment. You can use that to change your pin and unblock your Safaricom line

With reference to my mobile no.0720718795 sim card PUK is locked. At the moment I am travelling and am in UK and don’t have the PUK details with me..
I have tried, using my husband’s mobile, to follow the procedure for obtaining the PUK i.e. dial *100# but I keep getting the message Original PIN NUMBER or ID is wrong. It says Please dial *212# to Re-enter the correct details for the intended mobile number. By dialing *212# it does not allow me to do anything. The last recharge on my mobile was for 300/= on 20.03.2017.
For your reference attached herewith copies of my ID and my passport and kindly request you to help me re-activate my line.

This assumes you can get access to dial the 100 no when your phone is already locked.
Am currently outside the country and my line is locked. I don’t have my PUK with me, and obviously not able to dis the support line at *100# line.

It does not assume that sir …if u have access to any other safaricom line that is active then you are good to go ..
