How to reactivate your Mpesa
Mpesa plays a critical role in the daily lives of millions of Kenyans. Data from Safaricom indicates billions of shillings move through Mpesa to facilitate lives. This means that a lot of people depend on it to do what they do to earn a living. It’s therefore important to always have the service on when you need it.

But sometimes things happens that make you misplace your SIM card or may be need to replace it with a 4th generation one. When this happens your Mpesa is deactivated on the new SIM card and means you need to reactivate it to continue enjoying the service. Safaricom has made it easy for you to reactivate your Mpesa line and you don’t need to visit an Mpesa agent or the Safaricom office
What you need
The ID number used to register your Mpesa
The date of birth of the person that registered the line
Current Mpesa PIN.
The procedure
- To reactivate your M-PESA
- Go to M-PESA menu
- There will be two options in Swahili and English
- Wezesha or activate
- Choose Activate
- Input your Mpesa PIN as the start key
- Input your ID number or Date of Birth in the order DDMMYYYY
Your Mpesa is now active and ready to transact

Dear Team, I bought my Safaricom Line number 0720019185 with Mpesa account in August 2015 during my visit home (I reside in Germany)…which was still active mpaka June 2016 juu nina mpaka Mshwari…My old fon broke, bought another Fon with 2 Sim cards, one being this safaricom no. 0720019185 n the other one niyahapa +49 1575757 **** Nevertheless, I can’t access to my Accounts. Evetytime I send a request, it fails. Pls advice asap what to do juu, I need to make some transactions at the end of this month, using this Mpesa/Mshwari accounts.
