How to Register for TSC Number
To register for TSC number follow the steps below.
Registering for a Teachers Service Commission (TSC) number is a strictly online process. The Commission no longer accepts paper applications.
- Requirements
Ensure you have clear, scanned copies of the following original documents (PDF format, each under 1MB):
- National ID Card or Passport.
- Academic Certificates (KCPE, KCSE, and your professional Degree/Diploma/P1 certificate).
- Academic Transcripts (scanned together in one PDF).
- KRA PIN Certificate.
- Certificate of Good Conduct (Police Clearance).
- GP69 Medical Form (completed and stamped by a medical officer).
- Passport-size photo (clear digital copy).
- Affidavit (only if names on your certificates differ).
- Non-Kenyans: Require an entry/work permit and clearance from the Ministry of Education Vetting Committee.
- Steps to register for TSC number
- Visit the Portal: Go to the TSC Online Services portal and select “Teacher Registration”.
- Enter Personal Details: Input your ID number, surname, phone number, and KRA PIN to begin.
- Fill the Form: Complete all five sections, including your permanent address and educational background.
- Upload Documents: Attach the scanned files as prompted at each stage.
- Payment: Pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh 1,050.
- Payment is handled via e-Citizen (MPesa, Airtel Money, or bank options).
- Newer systems may prompt you for your MPesa PIN directly during the final stage.
- Finalise: Click “Save and Finalize” to submit. You will receive a summary page for your records.
- After Submission
- Processing Time: Applications are typically processed within 30 days.
- Notification: You will receive an SMS with your TSC number once approved.
- Certificate: Your official Registration Certificate will be sent to the postal address provided in your application.
How to track the status of TSC number registration
Its takes about a month before a TSC number is assigned to you. You can check the status of your TSC number application from the teacher registration status link and use your National ID number.
