How to Create NTSA TIMS account

 What is NTSA TIMS

NTSA TIMS is an information management system that allows the members of the public to gain access to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) services. NTSA has taken an initiative to migrate its services to the Transport Integrated Management Systems which include the following; motor vehicle registration, motor vehicle inspection and booking, motor vehicle transfer of ownership and motor vehicle record search.

Registering for a National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) TIMS (Transport Integrated Management System) account is now primarily integrated with the eCitizen Portal

What’s needed to create an NTSA TIMS account

• National ID Card: For the ID Serial Number.
• KRA PIN Certificate: Required during registration.
• Phone Number: A personal phone number to receive the OTP code.
• Email Address: A valid email address for correspondence
• eCitizen login credentials

Procedure for creating a TIMS account

• Log in to NTSA self-service portal. or https://accounts.ecitizen.go.ke/en
• On  e-Citizen there are two NTSA tabs: the NTSA old  website tab and NTSA new  tab. Choose the NTSA  new  tab. This will direct you to the NTSA self-service portal.

How to Subscribe to NTSA SMS

You need to subscribe to receive  SMS from NTSA before you begin 

• Subscribe to receive SMS by sending the word NTSA to 22847

The Step by Step procedure of Registering

• Visit the Portal: Click on NTSA new if you are on e-Citizen , log in into your e-citizen . If  you are using  the service portal you will still be directed to e-Citizen
• Select ‘Register Account’: Click the registration link for new users
• Choose Account Type: Select ‘Individual’ and then ‘Citizen’ (or ‘Alien’ if you are a non-citizen).
• Verify Identity: Enter your ID Serial Number (located on the top left of your ID card) and click “Verify”.
• Provide Personal Details: Input your KRA PIN, mother’s maiden name, occupation, and phone number.
• SMS Verification: Click “Send Authorization Code.” Enter the code sent to your mobile phone to verify your number.
• Complete Profile: Fill in additional details like your county of residence and email address, then click “Next”.
• Password Setup: You will receive a temporary password via SMS. Use it to log in, then immediately change the password to one you can easily remember
